The girls can’t wait

January 31, 2007

Sweet Bear and Petite Clown are happy to return to France.  Why?  They can’t wait to go to Ecole Maternelle.  Sweet Bear wasn’t thrilled about the fact that in America she wouldn’t be able to start school until fall of 2008 due to her having a late October birthday.  She adored going to school in France. [...]

Back to where I belong

January 29, 2007

It is official. We are returning to France in less than a week. I have many emotions stirred up inside me at the moment. I can’t wait to see France. I have missed France. Yet, I am not happy about being so far from my family. Especially, my sweet Angel. I pray it all goes [...]

Not this time

January 28, 2007

A letter came today with my name on it.  The group that I had interviewed with “does not have a position that fits my talents and strengths”.  O.K.  Their fancy way of saying that they are not interested really doesn’t make me feel better.  I knew it was not to be the day of my last [...]

Love is in seeing the beauty

January 26, 2007

Why are there people in our lives that love to put us down. They dwell on our least flattering features or even make up things. They overlook our strengths and our beauty. Are they jealous? Are they mean spirited? Or are they insecure? Why is it there are people close to us that enjoy making [...]

Grilled

January 24, 2007

I sit looking outside at the snow. It is cold. I hate the cold. A feeling of unease drifts over me. I readjust myself in the chair. I am nervous. It is 4:30 p.m. It is time for my interview. The secretary has already called back to the owner of the company to let him [...]

Even the sun gets tired

January 23, 2007

Sweet Bear was eating her dinner.  Correction.  Sweet Bear was stirring her dinner all up into one big blob of meat and mashed potatos.  She looked up and declared that it was getting dark out.  Every night she takes it upon herself to let the family know that it is getting dark out and that [...]

I l.o.v.e. my French

January 22, 2007

My mother had told me about a three bedroom apartment that is available near her home.  She had seen a sign advertising it on her way to work.  Vilay and I went to the complex to inquire about the three bedroom apartment.  My mother knew that it is an income based apartment.  If it wasn’t [...]

January 20, 2007

“I ove yu” when he is giving me baby love. “Hi!” in greeting to all. “Tank yu” as he hands me his plate after eating.E “Uh-oh” each time he or anyone else drops something. “Yeah” instead of “yes”.  Hey, he is American after all.  :) His only words have been in english so far whereas Sweet [...]

Taking it slow

January 20, 2007

I went over to my mother’s house today.  She filled the sponsor paperwork out and gave me her tax returns for the last three years to copy.  We have copied everything and will mail it all off Monday.  At first I was nervous to be in my mother’s house.  We haven’t talked for five months.  [...]

Sigh of relief

January 18, 2007

My mother called me and asked if she could sponsor Vilay.  We haven’t been on speaking terms.  However, we are family.  I couldn’t stop the tears.  The stress caused by this sponsor requirement was too much.  I was beginning to be scared, really scared, for my children.

Second opinion

January 18, 2007

I have called a local immigration lawyer that was refered to me by the Dayton bar association.  My father is totally financially responsible for Vilay if he decides to sponsor Vilay.  However, I was told by the lawyer that they have never heard of this being enforced.  For example, if Vilay were in a car accident [...]

Deflated

January 18, 2007

I talked to Catholic Community Services today.  I was told that my father would be totally responsible for Vilay even if he were in an accident.  I was, also, told that I could be declined as a sole sponsor due to my having not worked in the last three years even if I found a [...]

The good and the bad

January 17, 2007

The good: I had my interview.  It went well.  I will have another interview by phone and if that goes well one last face-to-face interview will be set up. The bad: We finally received the request for information in the mail today.  It is a request for my income to meet the 125 percent of [...]

Keep your fingers crossed

January 15, 2007

I have an interview!  It would be for around $35000.00 per year.  I’m not going to get my hopes up until the interview. I will only say that I do have a great chance of being hired due to my background.  It would be Monday-Friday.  And, I would be not only a manager but THE manager. Wish [...]
