Murten (Morat), Switzerland

Morat is a picturesque city that in the past was known as a defensive city. Most of the ramparts and towers are still standing making this city a charming place to spend a day.
I highly recommend Morat if you are looking for a small city full of history to visit in Switzerland. We [...]

Biel (Bienne), Switzerland

Saturday, we went to Bienne to get out of the apartment and find me some shirts on sale. I am in need of new short sleeved shirts for warmer days. We haven’t had many of those warm days this month since it has rained almost every day but I hope that next [...]

Wild Flowers

During our walk with Sissi and her children, I told her how much I love the wild flowers here in Switzerland.
You can read Sissi’s post about our get together here. Even if you can’t read French her pictures are lovely. You don’t want to miss them.

Bulle, Switzerland

We went to Bulle in La Gruyère region on Sunday. We walked around Bulle for a couple hours before we decided we had time to sneak in a visit to Charmey.
Bulle is a beautiful and well preserved city.
Some of Bulle’s main attractions (according to one of my favorite websites MySwitzerland.com) are:

Gruyère Museum - [...]

Charmey, Switzerland is full of charm

Charmey is a commune in La Gruyère located in the pre-alps of Switzerland. I felt like I had stepped right into a Swiss storybook. Everything about this area is typically Swiss.
We enjoyed our day there and are planning on going back this summer to sleep in a barn. It isn’t free but [...]

In and around Les Emibois

We took a good walk this past Saturday. I still would have liked to have walked more but it was looking like a storm was blowing in and we headed home by train.
We were right and it rained hard right after we boarded the train but it stopped right before our stop. Inside our [...]
