It can be hard adjusting to a new neighborhood or city but when it is in another country and language that makes it even more challenging. I think you have done really well in a super short amount of time. It took me about 10 months to start adjusting to France (first time living out of the US) and about 6 months after living in Switzerland.

I am so happy that your folks are coming to visit you. I know it is hard to be away from Switzerland. A week in Strasbourg was enough for me!

I am happy to finally be able to stop thinking of where we will move to next. We are planning on moving but it will not be out of your village. It will be to a nicer and hopefully a little larger apartment. ;)

Oh Pumpkin I never get tired or seeing your photos! You have such an eye for the simple thing, which I also love!

And I totally know what you mean about coming home. I am starting to know, slowly, the neighbors on my street and I can’t express the warm fuzzies it give me. Welcome home!

I loved the photos and yes I think you saw what I saw and why it ripped my heart to leave Switzerland… But I’m so happy you have a place you want to call home and you now feel like you belong! :)

Believe it or not, my parents come for their first official visit next weekend!

Pumpkin, you have had your share of challenges in your life, but your positive attitude is AMAZING and very inspiring :-) You have this gift to find the positive in any situation.
About the jura; Home is where the heart is. You have made that little village a home for you and your lovely family. It seems like a wonderful place to live and raise a family in.

Hi Pumpkin when I read this post I was nearly in tears…I have been reading your blog for a long time, I remember a post about you being quite sad and wondering if it was right to live there! Do you remember?
