Avenches, Switzerland (part I)

Sunday, we visited Avenches, Switzerland.

We were excited to see a real Roman amphitheater but we found so much more. We plan on returning in the summer so that we can explore this city more in depth. It is worth another visit!

The first series of photos are of the castle that we explored on our way to the medieval city center.

Tomorrow, I will take you through the medieval streets of Avenches on the way to the Roman amphitheater.

I love the shutters the most! I think the coolest thing about knowing you will be staying in Switzerland is having the opportunity to go back and photograph the “things” you missed or to get better and just see your progress…

I love the view from high above! Reminds me a bit of the Lenzburg Castle.
