Berry Beautiful day

Yesterday, we went looking for blackberries.
We found them in the forest above our village but we must wait a few more weeks until the berries are ripe. We did find some red berries but didn’t know if we could eat them or not. We decided to leave them rather than risk it. I really need to learn which berries are edible here in the Jura and which are not because we have berries growing all over the place. I hate to let all those free berries go to waste when I can put them in a nice tart!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

    Hi Pumpkin
another wonderful day out…looks beautiful.. I hope that you do find out which berries are edible, you will have to let us know. I don’t think the red berries in the 6th picture look edible, but the ones at the bottom do..we call them redcurrants, but I might be wrong, do lets us know..:-)

I just love the photos! Our blackberries are not ripe either here but the one’s at my parents in California are, and they are already past season.

    How much fun!

Such lovely photos, Pumpkin. I love foraging for berries in this part of the world…and it’s a great way to teach children the joys of the outdoors :)
