Today is Fête des Mères (Mothers Day) in France. The picture above is of one of my favorite flowers. It’s the coquelicot (corn poppy). I know it’s associated with the World Wars (I and II), but I think it’s just beautiful. I don’t think of death or blood when I look at these flowers.
Instead, I see a field swimming in bright, red happiness. I see tender caresses and fragile dreams. I see love.
Happy Mothers day to all the other mothers out there. I wish you all the happiness, tender caresses, dreams and love in the world.
