Budding photographer

The other day, I was clearing off a memory card from my old camera so I could use it in the Nikon. I had a good laugh because it was full of photos that my six year old had taken. Most of the photos were of Emmie Cat.  There are several of her posing with her brother and sister in front of a mirror.  There are two hilarious photos of her making a kissy face. The rest are of dolls and photos I have sitting or hanging around the apartment.

Here are the four best out of over fifty photos.

Jura Winter Sunrise
Jura sunrise from her brother’s bedroom (I think). I really love this photo. I like how the orange from the sunrise is showing through the holes at the top of the chimneys located on the left-hand side of the photo.

Emmie Cat
Emmie on one of “her chairs”. She has two that she regularly takes naps on. This is the one in our bedroom and the other is an old Ikea chair that is in the living room. She is a spoiled cat.

Emmie Cat
Emmie Cat trying to sleep. I think she must have been pretty tired. I am sure of this because otherwise she would have ran and hid as soon as she saw my daughter coming towards her with the camera.

Jura under snow
Look at all that snow! I am not looking forward to seeing it again. Last winter was so long. So long that I may never mentally recover from it.
Here’s to a long warm summer!

I cant wait to give my son a camera. He keeps wanting to take mine…. he is only 4 so another couple of years and we should be ok. He has however cottoned on to “action” shots and is ready and willing to pose in a position which he believes would make him a “boy about town” and impress those that see the camera… .I like the top photo too… oh, and the snow :::)))

What I do is let my girls hold the camera and take a shot while I keep my hand on it holding it as well so that if they let it slip I still have a hand on it. I do this with my Nikon D-60 but with my point and shoot I just let them go with it. My son who will be four at the end of this month takes pics with the point and shoot but I keep a hand on it.

I have thought about buying a camera made for kids that they could all use but I think it would be a BIG fight ALL the time and I haven’t read many good reviews of those types of cameras.

I love when kids have an interest in photography because they have the best eye. They see the world in a way that is pure.

That first photo of the sunrise is incredible! I live for moments like that.. Just enjoy the summer moments and take lots of photos so that you can hang them up!

That is a great idea for when the snow comes again. Then, I will have photos of summer to look at. :)
