07.03.08Summer BreakSummer Break is finally here! This past week has been a busy one. My five year old finished her last day of school today. So, this past May when I came across Grandma's Girl on Etsy I couldn't pass up buying my two youngest girls bonnets. The bonnets arrived and as the girls were trying them on ironically an advertisement came on M6 saying that une Petite Maison dans la prairie (Little House on the Prairie) will begin running around lunch time every day. 07.01.08My baby boy is three years oldMy last baby is not a baby any longer. He turned three years old, yesterday. It is his second birthday in Switzerland. 06.28.08Swiss School girl[gallery] Yesterday, we went to a meeting between my youngest daughter's teachers and her future classmates. I don't know why but I felt more comfortable than I have ever felt around the teachers. My five year old is already in their classroom and her sister will join her in the same class this fall. 06.25.08Naturally BilingualI stopped this morning to talk to two older neighbors who started a conversation with me about the weather. It wasn't long before one of the men took the opportunity to tell me that I should speak French with my children and not English. His reasoning is that because my children are French I should speak in French with them. 06.20.08Sisters foreverMy four year old daughter received a letter in the mail from her teachers explaining that she will start the école enfantine this coming August. She is invited to meet her future classmates, their families and teachers in a week. She held the letter close to her body with the biggest smile on her face. She looked up at me with tiny happy tears in her eyes and said, "I am going to school, Mama!" 05.27.08We found a new doctorHe is in a neighboring city. He is younger, laid back, professional, great with children and not hard on the eyes. :) The doctor is super nice and offered to drive us back home so we didn't have to take the train. We declined his generous offer but thanked him for it. We don't mind taking the train. 05.17.08Boy Blue with his bobbycarMy son loves his Bobbycar (made in Germany). We got it for him last year. He still isn't sure about steering but that doesn't stop him from getting around. The other day I saw Boy Blue scooting away like crazy on his Bobbycar. He was headed straight for a downward slope. 05.12.08Mother’s DayMy five year old daughter gave me these beautiful flowers for Mother's Day. The petals are made of wire and the centers are pompoms. At school she crafted these flowers all by herself with her own little hands. I love the springy hearts on the vase. After she gave me the flowers and a big kiss sh began to recite a Mother's Day poem that she learned at school.
