Job search

I have spent the morning searching for higher paying positions in order to sponsor Vilay myself.  I have given up on Dayton and am looking in Cincinnati.  One of the jobs that appealed to me the most out of all the jobs that I have applied for is as a loan processor.  So, I will start [...]

Letter to Congressman

Congressman Turner,
I am an American by birth with three American children born to myself and my French husband. We moved back to the U.S. after my husband lost his job in France. We had no where to go. I have applied for my husband’s green card and work authorization. I do not make enough money [...]

We are still waiting

We went to Cincy.  We talked to the person that you check in with.  We were told by her that she would have the request for information remailed to us.  The person I talked to last week has not had it remailed as she had told me she would.  The person that helped us today [...]

Coming together again

When I had to leave France I was bitter and afraid.  I was happy and bold.  I was lost and found all at the same moment.
I see the good and the bad in both countries.  I would prefer to spend six months in France and six months in America.  I wish I could have both [...]

My sweet little devil

Petite Clown wasn’t funny today.
She was bothering her sister while I was pushing them in a grocery cart.  Petite Clown was in the front seat and Sweet Bear was in the basket of the cart.  I warned Petite Clown that she needed to stop being silly or I was going to make her walk since [...]

Happy New Year!

I don’t know if I will be able to stay awake long enough to watch the big apple (or whatever is used now) drop in New York on t.v. tonight bringing in the New Year. We took Angel back to her father today. We left at 8 AM this morning and only got [...]

Appointment is set

I have set an appointment for Vilay on Thursday in Cincy with an immigration officer.  I could only do it today since my schedule for work wasn’t posted until this afternoon.
I think they may give him an interim work authorization.  No one told us that he could get that before.  I just read about it [...]

My life is a soap

We found out today that more information was requested back at the end of October on the I-485 form for Vilay.  We never got the letter.  It was most likely mailed to my mother’s home and I will never know if she didn’t give it to me or if it was lost in the mail.  [...]

Making my own luck

I have been reading some of my old posts to try and find my voice again.  I think that it is helping.  Once we moved from our apartment in Strasbourg into my husband’s parents home, I lost my heart for writing.  I want it back.
I know that I miss France and that it will never [...]

Jeanne d’Arc - Joan of Arc

Saint Maurice church, Strasbourg.
Jeanne d’Arc (Joan of Arc) is the patron saint of our family. Whenever, I feel my family needs protection or special guidance I pray to her.
I have always admired her story and the history of her bravery. I most of all admired how she believed without faulter in God and [...]
