I received my Official Statement of Status of Eligibility from the State of Florida Department of Education today. It does state that I am not eligible for a Florida Educator's Temporary Certificate at this time. All my coursework from Antioch was before July 1, 2002. Florida will only accept coursework dated after that date. So, I must take 30 semester hours in elementary education or have a passing score on the Elementary Education subject area examination. I have stopped using chemical based deodorants. I, now, only use Tom's of Maine. Why? Because...it is safe. It works better. I love the smell (I use Lavender and Vilay uses Woodspice). When we arrived back in Ohio this past summer, I soon remembered how HOT and HUMID it can get here. Nothing in the mail today but my car insurance statement. Go figure. It was warmer today which made me feel more cheerful. I logged into the Florida certification website last night after work like I have each and every day for the past month. I have been anxiously waiting for an update to my application stating I am eligible to teach in Florida. I could then get hired by a school and afterwards I would have to get a temporiary teaching certificate. Boy Blue has spent the last two nights trying to wiggle out of his fever. Mama has been giving him his meds and lots of kisses. Mama would like to give him a magical kiss that will put him to sleep.
