Saignelégier, Switzerland

Saturday, we walked around Saignelégier.  Can you believe that with a population of only a little over 2100 inhabitants, Saignelégier is the capital of the Franches-Montagnes?

A church in the city.

The other side of the church with road construction.
The street has been torn up for some time but it is finally almost completed.  Many of the [...]

Day in Bern

We walked for about four hours in Bern on Saturday. I shared some of the photos with you already but thought I’d share a few more.

There was a big market where we bought some fruit to snack on.

We watched a rally supporting Georgia. The sign reads “The more Europe cares, the fewer are [...]

Nature in Bern, Switzerland

I really enjoy our visits to Bern. We visited this quiet but not sleepy city once again on Saturday. We set out to discover new corners of the capital of Switzerland that we haven’t explored before.
Today, I would like to share some of the nature photos that I took. Bern like many [...]

Le Creux-des-Biches to Les Bois

Saturday, we took a walk from Le Creux-des-Biches to Les Bois. It was one of the most beautiful walks we have taken yet. There wasn’t a lot of hill climbing but the views were impressive. As usual, I had the feeling I was walking on top of the world.

Taste of summer

Some of the places we have been the last week weeks have been Neuchâtel with my In-laws, Bern to get my notarized authorization for a replacement passport for my oldest daughter (we went to the American Embassy) and a few other places shown below and others that are not.
I have been busy getting ready for [...]

After walking around the village and letting the children play in the school playground, we went to [...]

Soldes (Sales) in Bienne - Biel

We had the great chance to find out that each year Bienne has a huge sale held in the streets on the last weekend of June. Most of the stores in the city set up racks in front of their shop selling items for close to nothing.
We purchased sandals, a skirt and two shirts [...]

Pied d’Or in the Jura

It is easy to see why this area is called Pied d’Or which means Golden Foot in English.
How about taking a walk with me? All that is missing from the photos are the smell of the grass and the sun and the sound of insects buzzing by.

Morges, Switzerland

Morges, Switzerland is called the flower of Lake Geneva due to the abundance of flowers and peaceful atmosphere found all along the lake.
We had the great pleasure of spending a day in this beautiful city this past Saturday before retiring to a hotel in Lausanne that night. Sunday was spent enjoying the lake in [...]

Trip to Lausanne, Switzerland

We spent Saturday night and Sunday in Lausanne after visiting Morges. I will post those photos tomorrow.
It was a great weekend and we had a good time.
I heard more English in one day visiting Lausanne than I have during the entire year of living in Switzerland. Not only did I hear [...]
