Challenges of raising bilingual/bicultural children

I have written an article for an online magazine called Multilingual Living Magazine which is part of the Bilingual/Bicultural Family Network website. You can read my article called Confidence is the key by clicking here. My name is on the article because of professional reasons. Pumpkin just doesn’t work on a real online magazine article. I will not use my real name on From my French window because I am Pumpkin here. It just wouldn’t feel right to use my real name now. The biggest reason is that I don’t want to make it too easy for some people to find me due to my relationship (bad) with my oldest daughter’s father.

If you have children that are bilingual this is a wonderful resource to find information and read about others experiences. Corey, the founder of this website, is just such a sweet and caring person. I know you will enjoy the website and magazine because Corey has worked hard to build a network of information and support for all of us who have and love the bilingual children in our lives.

I’m the first:) I am going to read the article right now!!! I’m sooo excited for you, that is so great! I will go right now and read, but you know, I just wanted to comment first:op

I hope vilay’s blood pressure is getting better, I was so worried to hear that.

Pumpkin, your words about me, the site and the magazine touched my heart, thank you so much. It is truly MY honor to work with you. I love your blog and I sincerely hope that using your name in your article won’t cause you any grief. If you want to change that, just let me know and we can do it! We could list you as Mrs. Pie. ;-) Or just something very reasonable.

Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I’ll be keeping an eye on your blog and if you ever want to write for the ML magazine again, I’d be delighted. :-) And if you know others with wonderful insights like you into raising multilingual and multicultural children, send them my way.

Hope Spring has sprung in France… today it seems to have started in Seattle – FINALLY!

Pumpkin, your article was trully brilliant! I loved it, I think when I will have problems with confidence I will read it to make myself more confident! And your daughter is so adorable! You are doing her a great favour by rasing her bilingually and biculturely!
