The Statue of Liberty was built by Bartholdi who was born in Colmar, France. He used his mother as a model for the face. There is a round about in Colmar that has a miniature Statue of Liberty. If we can ever find an apartment in the Doubs we will be moved before this July. I will be working my first job in France and Vilay will be working and getting ready to start school. Our lives will be back on track again. However, I will secretly miss not being able to drive to see this miniature version of ‘the Lady’ as Sweet Bear calls her. I read a book to the girls about how the Statue of Liberty was made and the lasting connect between France and America that it created.

I think my old camera’s pictures have richer color. I am going to have to replace the cable to download the pictures so that I can start using it again.
Very beautiful. I finally purchased a digital camera. I made it a point to purchase a compact, lightweight camera so I can carry it around in my purse. But I keep forgetting to take it out and take pictures!
I wonder if you could purchase ’self-cleaning’ toilets for the home? I’m thinking they would be a big hit in America ;-) especially when you have little boys…of course what you really need in that case is a self-cleaning bathroom…
Pumpkin, we saw that miniature statue while we there, too! Great pics! By the way, I tried to use one of those public toilets and had trouble getting the door to stay closed while I was in it. Philippe had to hold it closed for me. Not sure what I was doing wrong. It’s cool how they self-clean, though.
It does look really lovely. I miss France.
