Feeling a little out of sorts as of late

I have been feeling tired lately. My son had a nastly little virus that lasted about five or six days. It caused him much discomfort due to high fever and a sore throat. He is better as of yesterday. However, he still is not sleeping through the night. He wakes up about 6 times a night and I have to hold him close kissing him back to sleep. Petite Clown is the other problem baby. She rarely sleeps through the night. She wakes me up on an average of at least 2 times a night for the past year. Sweet Bear just started sleeping through the night on a regular basis when she began school last fall.

So, I am no stranger to sleepless nights. However, Boy Blue has been stressing me a bit with the constant waking and crying. I hope tonight I only get wakened 4 times because for me that is a full nights rest. I’m not kidding.

My blogging, as of late, has been less than wonderful. I’m sorry and hopefully I will get back to my normal ranting and babbling soon.

Wow! I only yawned five times writing this.

I need a nap.

Yes, parenthood is full of sleepless nights…*sigh*. And nothing compares to a solid night’s sleep. Lots of luck on the sleep thing tonight…

boy do I know about that! My kids were notorious for waking me up, I guess that was my payback though for my mom, I woke her up till I was probably 8, calling her to get me a drink..hehe

thanks pumpkin for making a comment on pickles page, he was soo excited…before 6am…”i’ve got a comment, no, i’ve got 2!!!”

can you give him the link for angel girls, so he can read another kids blog? i think they are close to the same age!

Oh you are both kind and brave Mum’s at that time of day (or should I say night) I am nothing but a grumpy Mum and Leon would get sent straight back to bed. The only time I have any patience is when he is sick, otherwise I am very strict about this.

Luckily Leon is one of those kids that doesn’t want to go to bed, but when he gets there you could hold a party in his room and he would sleep right.

    You poor thing.

    Thanks everyone!
Wendy, I read your post but my girls have been into everything today and I haven’t had the chance to do much commenting.
I hope you and your son get a good nights sleep.

I hope so too.. this continual high fever thingy is scaring me – even though the doc said it’s just a throat infection…there’s something frightening about it…I know he’ll wake during the night – his temp is still swinging wildly…

I don’t know how you function with such interrupted sleep on a permanent basis..I’d go mad..

I’m off to bed now – early – I’m dead.

Wow! I can’t believe it. You really are a super mom! My dad would always stop my mom from going to check on us kids when we cried. It always broke her heart. But we wouldn’t sleep until we cried ourselves to sleep anyway.

Well, I only got woken up about eight times last night. Petite Clown climbed in bed with us about 2am and Sweet Bear about 6am. I was too tired to carry them back to their bed like I usually do.
Julie, I know parents that do that and it is ok but I can’t. I go in and check on them to make sure they are ok. A couple times when I was woken up by their cries it was because a foot was stuck in the bed or something like that. So, I always check to make sure they are ok and then sometimes I do let them cry themselves back to sleep afterwards. My husband tells me not to go too. However, he finally gave up because he knows I won’t sleep until I check on them and no matter what he says I will go. I even check on them just before I go to bed…I do my rounds…I check the gas on the stove and make sure the front door is locked and then I go check the girls kissing them and retucking the covers around them. Sometimes it is I that wakes them up doing this but I still have to. Then I can go to sleep knowing they are ok and warm.
