Me- “So, how many boyfriends do you have?”
Angel (rolling her eyes)- “Mama! I already told you boys only like girls that other girls think are ugly. Boys are stupid. My girlfriends and I just don’t get it.”
Me (grinning)- “O.k.”
Angel (blushing pink)- “There is this one boy that told me he likes me.”
Me- “I think he is the only boy in fifth grade that is brave enough to admit that he likes you.”
Angel- “Mama! He’s new to our school. Besides. He already has a little mustache! That is sooooooo gross!
I think it’s cute how she always starts her sentences with a Mama! thrust out of her mouth when she must explain something to her silly and uncool mother.

Maybe, Angel would be more impressed with her admiror if his facial hair were a wee bit more spectacular.
