Gruyères, Switzerland

Before my oldest daughter went back to the States we wanted to take her somewhere special. So, on her last weekend with us we all got up early to catch the train to Gruyeres, Switzerland.

When we visited Charmey last year we saw the castle of Gruyères from the bus. Vilay and I looked at each other and decided right then and there that we had to go back to see this castle as soon as we could.  While trying to think of somewhere to take Angel that she would really enjoy it didn’t take us long to remember the castle of Gruyères. I knew Angel would love to visit there because of the simple fact that she has always been interested in castles and she loves the mountains of Switzerland.  Gruyères has both.

It was a beautiful and relaxing day.  I know that we as a family will always look back on that day in Gruyeres with fond memories.

If you ever get a chance to visit Gruyères…DO!  At the very least, you have to try Gruyère cheese.  It is one of my favorite cheeses.

    Hello pumpkin,

I came accidentally on your website & I am glad I did! I love your weblog! I have been to Switserland many times to the Canton of Valais ( Wallis) but I have never been to Gruyère! But I adore the cheese! Many greetings from Brussels, Belgium!

Hello! Thank you for stopping by. I am going to check your blog out this weekend. :)
You have to go to Gruyère the next chance you get. It is so beautiful.

My daughter told my mother that she really enjoyed her trip here and that made me happy.

Every time we take a walk I think about you and half my photos are with you in mind because I know how much you love Switzerland! :)

    Caffienated Cowgirl,
    It is!
