Happy New Year!

I don’t know if I will be able to stay awake long enough to watch the big apple (or whatever is used now) drop in New York on t.v. tonight bringing in the New Year. We took Angel back to her father today. We left at 8 AM this morning and only got back a little after 5 PM. We stopped to walk a little in Louisville and another time to eat. For the most part it was a straight drive there and back. We are a bit tired. Correction. Vilay and I are a bit tired. The kids are full of energy and fighting, screaming and laughing as loud as they can. If one is not crying the other is and there is a whole lotta of loud if not shrill laughter in between. I do love the little monsters even if they are becoming a handfull. It is non-stop parenting with these kids. They are known for getting into all sorts of trouble. Boy Blue was a very quiet baby. Not now. It is as if he has discovered he has a voice and can shape his world. He isn’t happy to just sit back and be carried along. No, he must scream, kick or hit if he has to in order to get the world to conform to his wants and needs a little. He has become one of us. He is taking is part of this world. I am proud of him. I am proud of all my children.

I am going to miss the fireworks that accompany each New Year in France. It was as good as any Forth of July. Even better in a way. We didn’t have to leave home. We could watch it all from the windows of our apartment. I can remember the smell of firecrackers and fireworks filling the kitchen as we watched the colors bursting in the sky. I loved watching the kids faces as they ran from room to room to find the best free show of fireworks.

My New Years resolution is the same as last year and most likely each and every year. It is to be the best person I can be and to find the good in everyone. I want to focus on the positive in life. Everything else is a waste. I am still holding fast to my personal philosophy about life. No matter what we will move forward in life. Here’s to a Happy New Year in 2007 full of movement!

Life is like being in a canoe. Sometimes you just drift in the world and sometimes you have to use the paddle to fight the current. And sometimes….the canoe does turn over and you have to get back in and dry off or just sit there wet and soggy. No matter what you never stop moving. That is what I love about life.

Happy New Year to you all!
