La Chaux-de-Fonds
Taken at the La Chaux-de-Fonds train station. I told the girls a witch left her broom at the door. They didn’t fall for it. Vilay said that the door looked like a face and the broom was it’s mouth. I think he’s right.

Great pictures! Looks like you have the same stunning autumn weather that we are having. I bet it’s warmer in Switz though. We had frost last night.
I drove through La Chaux-de-Fonds last time Mr was working in Neuchatel. Beautiful city!

Did you know that La Chaux-de-Fonds was recently voted one of Switzerlands ugliest cities? Vilay told me that while we were walking around the city on the day I took these photos.
There is a free zoo for kids there with a really nice park for families.

Pumpkin, I couldn’t help noticing the Jack O’Lanterns in the window. Are they now doing Halloween in Europe?

Cathy,

I don’t know for sure if they do in Switzerland or not. I am guessing not.

However, I have seen many Jack-o-lanterns here. I think they don’t trick or treat but perhaps decorate more than in France (at least in Alsace)and have private parties like in France.

We are going to carve a pumpkin for Halloween. But, I am afraid to set it outside our apartment door. I have a feeling it will disappear or end up being thrown down the stairs. Not unlike the States…when kids or tricking. ;)

Stacey,

You are welcome. Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing them with us.

I refuse to carve real pumpkins here in the warm, humid south Texas. It only takes about 24 hours before the black mold starts growing inside the cut pumpkin – yuk!

what great photos! I love the last one.. By the way, that broom you see a lot in Switzerland, but not here in Canada!
