Finally!
It took FOREVER to get online because of Vilay and I deciding to use a cable line instead of a phone line. Big, BIG mistake! The cable in our apartment was too old and would have needed to be replaced. So, we had to wait to see if our landlord would allow the work or not. He prefered to not allow the work which broke our contract with the cable company. Last week, Vilay was finally able to contact the phone company to set up internet through the phone line.
The DSL arrived today and voila! Here we are… back, again.
Today, I am 37 years old. I think I look and feel better than I did when I was 27. Funny how time passes but I don’t feel it.
We have spent the majority of the morning updating and reinstalling programs to protect the computer that we had in France. It had not been used by us for over a year.
It feels good to be online. Now, I am back in touch with the world.
I will slowly get you up to date on what we have been up to. It has been a long and relaxing break. I needed it.
We love living in Switzerland. We adore the Jura. It is beautiful here. The children have gotten accustomed to all the bugs on our walks. In the beginning Petite Clown was afraid and Boy Blue stood with Sweet Bear watching bug after bug after bug cross the sidewalk. It made for long walks. The children still stop for several minutes to watch the cows and horses. I don’t think the charm of these wonderful animals will ever wear off.
We have walked all around our village. We even walked to France one day. Vilay told me it would take about 3 hours. Well….Six hours later we made it. I would have killed him if it hadn’t been one of the most beautiful walks of my life.

Taken just after we walked past the French border and had some lunch.
I miss France terrible. But, it isn’t so bad since she is so very close in distance.
I know this is a fast and scattered post. It is impossible to fill you in on all our adventures in just a few posts. So, I will try to get it all out over the next few weeks.

Welcome back!
Quite a different birthday post than the one I remember from last year. Things have really come full circle.
Happy birthday! And many more:-)
Yay! You’re on-line again. I missed “traveling” via your blog. Your children look like they have grown so much. It never fails to amaze me the growth spurt that children will have over the summer.
Bugs freak me out. What kind of bugs? Are there big, scary, stinging bugs in Switzerland?
You walked six hours with children in tow? Holy cow! I am in awe!
Happy Birthday!
Glad the move went well and you and your family are enjoying the Swiss countryside – the pics are beautiful!
I look forward to reading more about your move!
All the best!
Jessica,
Thank you! I think my life has finally taken a turn for the better. Switzerland has been very good to us and for us so far. Vilay is working in the watch industry and if our luck continues I may join him in the next few months. We are planning on many big things and it is all possible. We are planting roots and whether we stay here in or live in France we love this little part of the world. It is beautiful. It is not at all boring like I was afraid it would be.
Lisa, Mostly we see slugs! :) But, the girls think a large beattle bug that wrestles worms to their death is very mean but very interesting to watch. It is huge with a shiny body. So far no bugs that sting.
I uploaded several photos to our flickr account. We have been using the trains to visit our region.
Can you believe that Sweet Bear walked most of the way? She is only four and a half. She is wearing size six clothes now and sevens are looking more and more like a good fit. Petite Clown is in fours and some fives while Boy Blue is in size three and some fours. He is finally starting to talk and it is a mixture of both French and English. No preference for the moment. He just turned 2 a few weeks back.
Indie Mama, Thanks. I can’t wait to read how you and your family are adjusting to the Swiss life!
Glad you’re back on-line…eager to hear more of your adventures.
Happy Birthday!
Cheers,
Pam
Pumpkin, so glad to see you back online! I’ve been checking your blog almost daily to see if you were back, and I thought of you today as I remembered this was your birthday! (Mine is coming up soon, and I remembered that it was close to mine.) The photos are absolutely gorgeous. Can you believe it was almost three months ago that we were in France with you? We do miss Europe.
Happy birthday! I’m glad to know things are well with you
Happy Birthday!
I was just thinking about you today. Nice to see you posting again!
Pam, Thanks. I can’t wait to catch up on your adventures in France and all the other blogs I haven’t been able to read on a regular basis for almost a year.
Cathy Y., The other day Vilay and I were talking about how nice it was to have had the chance to visit you and your family. It doesn’t seem so long ago.
Buzzgirl, Thank you. It is about time that Vilay and I are back on our own two feet. I hate living and depending on other people even if they are family.
Alison, I am happy to be back! Happy birthday to you, too! I know yours is close to mine. I am happy that you are with your children. I smiled alot looking at your pics and catching up on your blog. Your kids are just beautiful.
Lovely to see you back. I have had you in my thoughts a lot.
Blimey – I forgot to say Happy Birthday!
My first time to leave a comment. I found your blog… I don’t remember how! But after I read your archives, I’ve been checking often to see when you would finally come back.
Welcome back!
And happy birthday!
Glad to hear you’re doing well and the family is happy.
WELCOME BACK!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY! (been looking forward to read you again!)
