J’en ai marre

by Pumpkin on April 28, 2009

It started out fine enough.

Rain in the morning.

Now.

We have snow.

Not a little snow.

Huge flakes of snow.

Coming down at a steady pace.

I really am fed up with the snow.

For heavens sake, I just washed and put up all the scarves, gloves and snow pants until next winter.

I pray it stops.

Seriously!

Snow in April

Having loved all those years in Maine, I remember the frustration with later April snow. However it does look quite pretty in your photo :) Sorry!

Oh my word ..Poor you, how frustrating, it should be sunny!

I grew up in Alaska – I know how frustrating it is to see snow when it’s almost May. Hang in there!

Oh that would annoy me to no end!

I once stumbled upon some information about the Ice Saints of France. They used to be celebrated on May 12, 13 and 14th. According to legend, you never plant anything before these dates because it usually gets cold/freezing before then. Apparantly the earth does pass through some meteor showers during this time and it can influence the weather. Of course, I still try to get lucky and plant my vegetables before then. I see that it is in the 30′s this morning but no snow.

Linda is right, old people in France will tell you not to plant before May15th because of the “gelee”.
I am with you on that, depressing…

Hi,
my brother-in-law who is a garden planner for the city of Goerlitz in Germany also had mentioned this May 15th date because of chance of frost. Anyway, weather looks better for the weekend I think! Laura in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Come over to baroquebabies.com when you have a chance to say hello!

Thanks for the support everyone! It didn’t last long…Which is why I haven’t been blogging. I have found that I am addicted to being outside as much as possible. We had a great weekend and I have yet another trip to share on top of the rest of the photos from last weekend!!! I am so behind in blogging. :)

Oh it’s okay.. And I figured the same. That photo is so beautiful and makes me miss my time in Switzerland ever so much. Having just gotten back too, I hope to post a bit more soon with photos. :)
