I found a new video service. A fan of dailymotion, I am. That is not going to change.
I am looking for another video service that fills a different kind of need. The need to quickly make and share videos all in one service.
I jumped at the chance to try out jumpcut!
Like dailymotion, jumpcut gives me the option to make my videos private or public which is important to me. Many of the other video services out there do not allow private videos.
Jumpcut is a bit more advanced than dailymotion in that I can actually make a movie using their service. I can upload video from my computer, email or a video device directly to the jumpcut.com website. I can begin editing right away using all the tools available on the jumpcut website.
A feature I think is the handy is the ability to easily transfer pictures from flickr or facebook to jumpcut. Afterwards, I can make a movie in about as short of time as 3 minutes if I am making it extremely simple.
Here are some examples of my trying out jumpcut. Nothing fancy. I wanted to see what I could do quickly.
Video uploaded from my computer. It is from a trip to Avallon, France. I had problems with the dailymotion video I made for my blog. So, I replaced it with jumpcut. It works great!
Video made using jumpcut to import a flickr set. I added the photos I wanted to use for the movie and published it. I could easily add music if I wanted as well. Really simple to use.Autumn is the season that makes this Midwestern girl homesick. The pictures in the video are of some of the things that I miss most. We were living in the States with family members for six months during the time I took these photos. It was a nice time to reconnect with my family and country after having lived in France for two and a half years. I am lucky to have this time. I know that. Now that we are back in Europe, I often cherish all the good memories of those six months.
