Lazy and stressed

With the girls home for Autumn break, I find myself not able to keep up with the housework.  So, rather than fight it I have given in and become lazy.

We have all been sick and haven’t been able to take any walks together this week.

I did laundry on Monday but haven’t put any of it away.

I have a ton of recycling that needs to be taken out to the proper disposal area because it has taken over our walk in closet.

I really need to mop and will force myself to do that today.

The constant bickering of my children has set my nerves on edge.  Why do they need to argue ALL.  DAY.  LONG.  ?

So, there hasn’t been much going on in the Pumpkin Pie household to write about.

All I have to offer you, my dear readers, is a glimpse of last week in photos.

You can safely view them from your computer screen without fear of catching my cold.  However, I make no promises.

A princess and her flower.

A photo of the snow we had gotten that has since melted.

In this photo the snow had mostly melted except for at the top of the mountains.

Currently, there is no snow left on the mountains except a patch here and there.

Fallen leaves during a walk over the weekend.  I love the sound it makes as the children shuffle through the dry leaves.

Le Noirmont train station on Saturday.

My five year old daughter’s butterfly creation she made at school and brought home Friday, the last day of school before Autumn break.  The break will last two weeks.

My four year old daughter’s butterfly creation that she made at school.

My girls are in the same class since they are only one year apart in age.  Notice that my five year old used different colors while my four year old stuck to pink.  They collected their branches during a hike in the mountains with their class.

Close up of a yellow butterfly.

The girls made the butterflies all by themselves following the instructions of their teachers.

I wouldn’t call that being “lazy,” Pumpkin! I mean, you are not feeling well. Take a break! You’ll be back to the grind (and the walks) soon enough. :-)

It is not easy being trapped up indoor for little ones…
They need to get out! I am staying at my father and he lives in an apartment, they are driving me nuts…
I just can’t send them outside like I do it in Switzerland, where they take their bike and ride around with their friends our extremely safe village…
My husband left this morning and he is coming back this week-end to pick us up, the second week of fall break I will be home (I miss home), it would be wornderful if you come over.

What beautiful pictures! I’m really impressed. I love the butterflies, I think that would be a great idea for my little Miss Beans. This week-end in the mountains we collected stones and painted them. Lots of fun and great results. We laquered them with nail polish afterwards.

Have a great week – and get well soon! Don’t worry about the house work!

    Cathy,
I really miss walking and it is so beautiful outside the windows of our apartment. The trees are starting to change quickly now. We are all feeling better today so maybe we will go for a quick walk and I can grab some photos.

    Sissi,
I think I will be able to sometime next week if that is ok with you.

    Torun,
The butterflies bring so much color to our living room. I am sure your kids will love it and so will you.

    Anne,
Thank you. I am embarrased to say that I didn’t even get around to mopping yesterday and today have only swept. However, I do it all this weekend. We are resting now and enjoying the lazy days.
