Le Carnaval du Noirmont through photos

I only had time to put up a few photos of the carnival of Le Noirmont yesterday. I have uploaded the rest into a gallery at the bottom of this post so that all of you can stand on the sidelines of the carnival with me. I only wish I could share the noise but I keep forgetting that I can take movies with my camera.

If you click on a photo in the gallery then you can navigate to the next photo by clicking on a thumbnail located at the bottom of the page.  As always, you can further click on a photo to see it larger.

Today is Baitchai!

Children in our village will come together to make as much noise as they can as they all walk through the village for donations of candy and money.  It is a wonderful substitute for Halloween and I am looking forward to it.

I have a few photos and explanation of what Baitchai (for children) is in my post from last year.  I hope to get some photos today to share with you soon!

I heard the adult Baitchai (last year’s post)  in the center for the village around 10 p.m. last night and around 9 a.m. this morning as they passed by our apartment.  Other than that, I was not disturbed by all their noise making during the night.  I slept like a log!

Have a great day!

What a great set of photos! It looks so kid oriented and all around lots of fun! Participation looks high which is the key, isn’t it?

I agree that it is more fun with a good crowd. However, in Strasbourg it was almost too much during the Carnaval parade because there were so many people we could barely move. In Le Noirmont, it is cozy and I like that everyone seems to know each other.
