I had been sick for a week or so. I don’t even remember exactly how long. I think because of all the stress I had been under it took me longer to get over a little bug than it should have.
Today, I am starting to feel like my old self. I have so much to do and no time to be sick. There are goals I have set for myself that I will not let slide. So, here I go into 2009 a little later than I had planned.
My goals are as follows (in no particular order):
- Speak without making mistakes in French and learn to write well in French
- Become more serious about my professional life and what I can push myself to do
- Start a photography business
- Write a children’s book
- Become more active in my community and build friendships in my village
- Teach my children to read and write in English through lesson plans and time set aside each day for learning
- Learn to believe in and value myself as a person by taking time out of each day for ME.
Here’s to 2009 and all that it WILL bring!

That sounds like all good resolutions, i think! I am Flemish & Belgian but I do speak good french. If you have any problems with French, I could help you trough your weblog! If you want, I can comment in French. Maybe those little things may help you… I hope you will be better soon & I follow your weblog every day!
Bye bye from Brussels, Belgium!
Oh Pumpkin…I do hope you are feeling a lot better soon!! It really must be the time of year ..lots of feeling stressed, but all with different problems.
Your goals are great, I should set myself something but lack so much confidence.
I am helping (not teaching) my friend from Chile with her English, and she is trying to teach me some Spanish..
Take Care of yourself..hugs Anne
That looks like a great start. I need to start taking photos but I was sick also and then I twisted my ankle just as I was ready to get back into the swing of things! Argh! Love your breakfast. :)
Great list. A children’s book? Wow…have you always wanted to do that?
Here’s to me getting started on some of these goals this weekend!!!
Sophie,
Vous pouvez répondre en anglais ou français, comme vous voulez! :)
Anne,
I think that is great that you have someone to trade languages with! I think most of my problems in the past have been a lack of self confidence and now I have decided to do it no matter what.
Expatraveler,
I hope your ankle is better. I know it hurts when you twist it!!! Ouch!
Caffienated Cowgirl,
Since I was in high school I have wanted to write a children’s book but I have never believed in myself to actually sit down and do it. :) Now, I am going to do it whether or not it turns out good. :)
