Out of the mouths of babes

Vilay was finishing up painting my mother’s laundry room.  Sweet Bear and Petite Clown were wrestling and giggling as they watched their father from the doorway of the kitchen which leads into the laundry room.  Vilay and I were talking about how the painting was going.  Actually, I was asking him if he had managed to cover up the bright yellow that my mother had painted the room a couple years back.  Sweet Bear piped right up to defend her father.  She told me with knowing eyes, “Papa is doing a good job, Mama.”  I smiled at my babies big girl voice and noticed how pretty she was with her big blue eyes and the soft curls of her hair slightly flipping out.  I asked her if she was supervising her father’s work.  She brightened up and cheerfully answered, “Papa is doing a good job because I am STUPERvising!”  Gotta love those kids.

Ha! They like to think they’re in charge. My little sister told me that she was babysitting me the other day. And she tells me to go to bed sometimes, probably thinking that if I’m in bed I won’t put her in bed? Kids are so sneaky in a funny way.

Sweet Bear thinks the whole world revolves around her. For the moment Petite Clown is going along with all that Sweet Bear says but I have a feeling it won’t be long. We just humor her. It is a phase…a long, long one. I know because Angel Girl is just outgrowing it? I hope. :)
