We took the kids to a park the other day. It is a park that Vilay has always liked and I have never really found so wonderful. I’ll get to why in a bit. We let the kids run and jump and play on the play equipment for about an hour. Afterwards, we took a walk around the man made lake which is actually very pretty. It was towards the end of our walk around this lake that I remembered why I wasn’t so very fond of this park.
The girls were admiring the many ducks that were gathered at our side of the lake. Sweet Bear was doing a beautiful duck call when my dog doo radar that I had aquired while living in France started going off like crazy. I looked down to see duck doo covering the path. Glad my radar is tuned to react to all kinds of doo!
It was then that I understood why Vilay loved this park so much. I turned to my handsome French husband and said, “You love this park because you are homesick for France.” Everyone knows doo is just a part of French life. After two years of life in France I barely noticed the stuff. I had grown used to casually watching for it as I walked. I didn’t even have to think about watching for it. I just did.
Vilay knows I was just teasing him because he has been feeling a little homesick lately. And, I got him to smile. :)
If you would like dog doo radar I suggest at least two years of life in France. You will be sensitive to all forms of doo that may lie in your path. I am talking about the real stuff and not of the many other types of s**t life can throw at you. ;)

It was funnier when it happened…you had to be there. :) I feel bad for Vilay because he is just now starting to get homesick and I know it is going to get much worse. I hope it is easier since this is his second time living in and adjusting to America.
