Respecting others is a problem for some of my neighbors

Laundry days are stressful for me. It has nothing to do with doing a week’s worth of clothes in a half a day. I have that down pat.

The stress comes neighbors. We have the great luck of living in the same building with the most selfish and disrespectful two families I have ever seen.

One of the women in our building has a small washing machine in her apartment. The problem I have with this is that WE are paying for the water used to wash her clothes because the cost of water is split between the apartments.

At the beginning of winter, the landlord gave everyone in the building a letter reminding us to watch our water consumption because the usage had drastically went up. He mentioned that he may have to raise the charges.

I told my husband if the landlord raises our charges I am going to confront him about it. I don’t think it is fair that she washes a couple loads daily (she told me that) using her washing machine in her apartment which will obviously cause her to use more than her share of water. Besides, I do watch my water consumption.

If you think about it all the tenents in the building are paying for the water she uses to wash her clothes in addition to paying to wash ours in the washing machines in the laundry room. As far as I am aware she is the only person that has a washing machine in their apartment.

On top of me paying for her to wash her clothes, she has the nerve to try and hang her clothes up during my wash day.

She pushed my clothes that were already hanging on a line over to the side to hang a pair of her pants up. She never asked if she could use the laundry room on my day to dry her clothes. In the past, I have had to knock on her door twice to tell her to get her clothes down.

On top of pushing my clothes over to hang her’s, she placed her clothes all over one of the two drying towers that are in the washroom. Laundry drying in my bedroom

These towers belong to the wife of the conceirge who told me last week I could use them on my wash day if I wanted. It saves me from having to dry clothes in our apartment (see photo).

Seeing as my neighbor doesn’t care or respect that it is my day for laundry, I went straight to the conceirge.

The wife of the conceirge immediately went and took all the other woman’s clothes down. It seems my neighbor is doing this to everyone in the building all week long even if she has been told not to. The wife of the conceirge was really upset that my neighbor is doing it to me because I have so much laundry to do.

Today, I am going to tell my neighbor if her clothes are in the washroom on my day I will throw them at her door.

It is the only way she will understand. Believe me. I have had many issues other than laundry with this woman but I haven’t blogged about them.

Once you hear some of the other things she has pulled you will wonder how I have kept my cool this long.

Being direct and mean with this kind of person gets results. It worked with the Grosse Vache upstairs. I haven’t had one issue with Grosse Vache since we clashed last. Now, I will put this other b*tch in her place. I can’t think of a nicer word to describe her.

If she wants to make everyone in the building hate her, she is doing a great job.

I have never had to stand up against neighbors like this in my whole life. I have the craziest neighbors.

We will be very selective when we search for our next apartment.

Oh I’m sorry you are having to deal with her, what a pain! That is so not fair that you also have to pay for her water to wash. I’d definately say something, especially given her rudeness….good luck…I’ve had a few bad neighbors too, it’s no fun!

Pumpkin, is the water usage for the laundry room included in the total usage for the building, or is it separate? If it’s included, then it probably wouldn’t matter if your neighbor did her laundry in her own apartment or in the laundry room. Just a thought. By the way, if it is included, that would really stink, as you’d in essence be paying for it twice, once at the machine with coins, and again with the water charge.

If it were me, I would keep her clothes. It’s your day, the clothes in the laundry room are yours. I’m kind of a meany when it comes to these things. People that have no respect or courtesy for others make me crazy. Let her have it!

She is the rudest person I have ever met. No one should have neighbors like these.

I don’t know. But, even if it is included for the entire building she is still using more water that is not being paid for by dropping coins in the machine. So, our landlord is still seeing a rise in cost. We spend about fifty swiss francs a month on laundry. That is just for the washing machine. I spend about eight more frans a month on the dryer. That is why I am so mad it all on top of her rude behavior.

    Mad William,
I was going to confront her yesterday but she hid in her apartment all day.
