Roadtripped up

We. officially. have. a. car. It has made our life so much easier and I am now able to actively job hunt.

This past weekend we flew into Daytona Beach to pick up the car from my uncle’s house and drive it back to Ohio. Unfortunately, we got lost on the way back. Don’t ask me how. We just did. I will say that a certain someone didn’t print the directions out from the internet. Certain Someone said that he knew the way. Next time…Certain Someone is printing or I am going to tatoo the directions on his rear!!!

Below is a short video of me tired and babbling about the Ohio River representing the fact that we were almost home. When I was a kid we would often drive to London, Kentucky to visit my grandparents. When we drove over the bridge crossing the Ohio River into Cincinnati…my brother and I were happy kids. We hated the four hour drive back home. Somehow the trip back home was always the hardest. Crossing the bridge meant we were only about an hour from home as long as traffic was kind to us. When I saw the bridge I got the same excited feeling as I did when I was a kid.

I knew that I had survided the two day trip in a car and I would soon be holding Sweet Bear and Petite Clown. I missed them terrible. Boy Blue was the only baby that went with us. He was perfect and only cried three times because he was hungry.

Before crossing over the Ohio River the Radisson Inn was a building that I would always search out. When I was a kid I loved this hotel. The top floor of the Radisson Inn hotel in Covington, Kentucky revolves. The hotel restaurant is located on this floor. I have never been inside of it even though I promised myself as a little girl that I would as soon as I could. Meaning that I would go when I had grown up. Apparently, I am still not a grown up because I have never made it to this restaurant. When I was a little girl I thought it was one of the coolest things in the world…this revolving floor. I would still like to visit the restaurant some day and become all grown up and all. If I do I’ll be sure to share whether or not the experience lives up to all the dreaming I had done about it as a kid. I don’t know about the food but the view of the Ohio River must be spectacular!

Notice a sleeping Boy Blue behind me.

Glad you are home safe, but a bit bummed that we didn’t get to meet!

    And hooray for the CAR!

Me, too! I was really looking forward to it. I would love to reschedule. Maybe Vilay and I can make a roadtrip as soon as things are more settled here or if you are driving through Cincy we could meet up there?

We love having a car again. We are not the kind of people that like sitting around the house for too long. :)

Congrats on the car and great videos! Fun for me to see…reminded me of road trips to Ohio from Minnesota when my daughter was going to Wittenberg University in Springfield.

Oh, and hope Certain Someone prints out the directions next time. (or that could be one heck of a tattoo!)

Oh, Wittenberg University! How fun! I studied there!

Wow, glad you got home! I really like the videos of you in the car and of the scenery! Congratulations on the car! My parents got a new one not too long ago!

Boy Blue is adorable…Audramal calls him “Teddy Bear Monster”, but he doesn’t look like a monster to me.

Hey there! I hail from South Point Ohio, just down the river from Cincinnati. I know what restaurant you’re talking about, too. Whenever we’d go see the Cincinnati Reds play or go to Kings Island, I’d beg for mom and dad to take me there. I used to also cross the Ohio River every day to go to school and work. Beautiful, isn’t it??

  • Pumpkin September 18, 2006, 1:34 am

    yes…it is very beautiful!

He is a sweety, but sometimes he will chase his sisters trying to bite them or hit them. All he wants is attention and once they tickle him or kiss him he is happy agian. :)

Glad to know y’all made it home and that you have a car! It is nice just knowing you can hop in and go somewhere…anywhere even if it is just to the corner store and back.

We are not too far from you. We are closer to London, KY. There is an apple pie festival here in Liberty this week…our first and maybe you have heard of it from your grandparent’s living so close? Here is the link…

Should y’all decide to come down…not sure you want to get back into the car again after your recent trip…let us know.
