Saturday, we walked around Saignelégier. Can you believe that with a population of only a little over 2100 inhabitants, Saignelégier is the capital of the Franches-Montagnes?
A church in the city.
The other side of the church with road construction.
The street has been torn up for some time but it is finally almost completed. Many of the village and city streets around our part of the Jura have been redone in the last year.
I will never forget the first time we drove through this city on the way to our village for my husband’s interview. We were so nervous and happy to think of starting a new life in Switzerland. Of course, we would never have guessed at the time that Saignelégier and all the other cities and villages in this area would become so familiar to us in only one year.
We were just on the outskirts of the city and already there were fields. However, new homes are being built to the right of this photo overlooking the city with a great view.
I will never grow tired of these mountain views.
Vilay posted about our visit to the French and Swiss Goumois. I will post my impressions tomorrow.
Les images de la vie posts breathtakingly beautiful daily photos from Switzerland.
