Thanks for doing the 7 things thing. Life’s been hectic lately, so I’m just now catching up on your last week’s worth of posting.

I really love reading about how you’re raising your kids bilingually and about your life in a Francophone country. I agree that kids tend to naturally pick up the language that their main caregiver speaks to them, and today that is still usually the mother.

I am a scrambled egg kinda girl. Luckily, my husband loves to eat scrambled egg sandwiches with mayo. :)

I love to get his goat in regard to whether sauerkraut is German or Alsatian. In Alsace it is called choucroute. But, it is pretty much the same thing.

I miss Alsace. It is just beautiful there.

I think I eat the hamburger “correctly”, but Mr. and I disagree on how to eat an egg properly. So – are you a “point-up” or a “point-down”-person? I firmly believe in the point-down method. It delays the gratification of the yolk, but my husband, who grew up on a chicken farm in Illinois, thinks he knows best. Can’t imagine why…

Sorry for saying the christmas tree came from Germany. If you however feel like annoying your husband even further, you could call it “Elsass”! That will ruin his day… ;-)

How fun that you lived in Strasbourg! We were in Colmar quite a few times, for opera projects. And there was a long period where we contemplated Strasbourg as our new home town. I love the area.

Sognatrice, That is exactly what I asked my husband…why is it I that is eating it upside down and not everyone else?

Italy is the next country I would like to visit. We went one day but we made it to the border, had a pizza and went slowly back home to Strasbourg where we lived at the time.

Hey I eat my hamburger upside down then too…although I prefer to think of it as right side up and everyone else is upside down ;)
