Snow markers

Snow marker

Snow markers have been up all over our village since Monday. I was told that last year there wasn’t much snow here in the Jura. However, the year before the snow level was up to the orange!

That’s a lot of snow.

We have already bought snow pants and a coat that is wind and water proof for my five year old daughter. At school, the kids go out and play in the snow at recess. Her school yard is more a yard with park equipment than a school yard typically found in the States.  I think my daughter is going to have fun building snow forts and tunnels during her recess.

Her teacher told all the parents to make sure that the kids wear snow pants or a snow suit to school or else they have to take the kids jeans off to dry when they come back inside from playing.

A couple times during the winter her class will even go sledding. How cool is that?

View of our mountains on the way to pick up Sweet Bear from the bus stop today. I still have to pinch myself sometimes because it is so beautiful here.

Wow, great pictures! I love that iron colored, heavy weather. We have a lot of that in the valley where I come from. It’s so great to see pictures from Switzerland, because it’s so much like Norway, only kind of put together in a slightly different way.

Great idea with the snow markers, I don’t know why we don’t have them here. The winter before last, we also had enormous amounts of snow. It was beyond reason. Even in March. When my husband was away, I ended up scooping only half of the driveway because it was just too exhausting. Fun for the kids though! Hope we’ll have lots of it this year too… :-) Snowsuits for the little ones and for me are already bought, so bring it on!!!

    Torun,
We have only bought Sweet Bear a snow suit so far. And, we have snow this morning! Lots of snow!!! I am watching it come down now and it is just beautiful. Sweet Bear will be wearing her snow pants to school today…for sure. :)

    Caffienated Cowgirl,
It is beautiful here. I can’t come close to doing it justice with my camera.

We don’t have any snow markers but we can see the ski hills everywhere and I agree that it is beautiful when we actually have more than a view of the downpour…

Ah I can’t wait till you are able to show us more pics!
