Sunday

Yesterday, we got out of the apartment. It was good to be outside in the sunshine with the smell of fall pulling at my inner bear stirring it out of a deep slumber.  We had spent too many hours inside due to one sick child or another.

I sat quietly with the autumn light on my face enjoying the sound of my children playing.  Their voices rang out into the air full of happiness as they scuffled through dry scattered leaves.  We stretched ourselves out over our last day of autumn break savoring every little piece.

That was Sunday.

Today, autumn break is over and the girls went back to school this morning. They were bubbling with excitement to be back in their classroom. It feels good to slide back into our weekly routine after a long break.

The trees are almost bare with only a few stubborn leaves hanging on.

Soon I will have no children left that will fit into this baby swing.

Softness.

Thirty.

Zone.

I love the phrase “inner bear”. I just finished the Hotel New Hampshire. Whacky book but I enjoyed it all the same, I especially found the part about Susie the bear fascinating. What a great escape from troublesome everyday human-ness. Sometimes I feel like it would have been great to be a bear. I love to sleep. The thought of hibernating is a very tempting one…

So pleased to hear that you made it out into the sunshine. I know what it feels like to be cooped up with a sick child. Hope everyone is feeling so much better.

Just to have the warm autumn sun on your face, brightens the day. :-)

I love scuffling through the dry autumn leaves…can’t resist it when I see a big pile ..I don’t know why I have to do it, but cannot resist it. :-)

    Torun,
I agree that hibernating is tempting. Actually, I feel like that is what we have done the past two weeks and I think we needed it.

    Anne,
Thank you. Everyone is better. My son still has a rash that is finally starting to clear up.

    Anne,
    Me either!
