Saturday, we took a walk from Le Creux-des-Biches to Les Bois. It was one of the most beautiful walks we have taken yet. There wasn't a lot of hill climbing but the views were impressive. From Les Russilles to Tramelan Switzerland, Travel | (4)
We took advantage of the sun and caught the train to Les Russilles and then walked to Tramelan. From Tramelan we headed up into the mountains using a road with few cars. The road led to a farm at the top of the mountain with no outlet. So, we turned back around and headed back down into Tramelan where we caught the train back home after picking up items to make tacos for dinner at Denner. Montfaucon is a municipality located in the Jura of Switzerland. Sunday, we took a four hour walk in and around this picturesque area. Click here for Google map. Link to Montfaucon's community website. We started at the trainstation in Pré Petitjean crossing Montfaucon to Les Enfers. We made our way through the village and across some of the countryside surrounding Les Enfers before returning to explore Montfaucon. My morning walk Jura, Life in Switzerland | (7)
We are taking our daily walks as we did last summer and fall. The kids and I make a big tour of our village and then head home for lunch. Here are this years first leaves on a tree I enjoy sitting under near our building. This is the view we see from our windows and near our building. It is breathtaking. Our mountains are blooming with Spring. We are taking nightly walks as we did before the snow. The children run in the fields along the road and search for hidden treasures in nature while Vilay and I talk about how much we love it here. Living in the mountains is living close to nature. I am continuously surprised by the beauty of the unexpected. We were walking in the mountains around our village when I turned to see the biggest moon coming up over the mountain. It was huge. It was breathtaking. The snow that had fallen during the night melted quickly against the sunlight. I told the kids to put on their rain boots so they could wade through mud puddles and walk through fields. Half an hour later, we made it to my favorite park. There are only two swings and a slide. But, the view is incredible. Usually, in Swiss parks the structures are made of wood. We walked six miles over our beautiful mountains. The sky was immense. It was covered in a deep blue decorated with huge white fluffy clouds. It felt good to stretch our muscles on a weekend walk.
