Walking off the Thanksgiving meal

The snow was beautiful with ripples blown into it from the wind.

Hill where children sled.  We are planning on bringing our children here with their sleds soon.

The camera froze (pun intended) while I took this shot.  I like how it came out.

My children wading, rolling and playing in the snow.

Giving Thanks

I am thankful for my family and my friends that my life has been blessed with.
I am thankful for nature and all the beauty that is in life if we look for it.

Snow is a part of life here in the Jura

Winter is long in the Jura.
Snow is simply a part of our life here.
We had snow as deep as now this past Easter.  My children searched for Easter eggs in snow up to my knees which meant it was up to my son’s waist.  So, don’t be surprised when you see photos of snow [...]

Our Sunday walk - Part II

In my previous post, I took you on the first part of our Sunday walk. Today, I will take you on the rest of the walk. The wind blew something fierce along the top of the village and made me wish I could blink myself back home into the warmth.
It was freezing [...]

Snowy Jura

On Sunday, we took a walk before dinner.  It felt good to get out and feel the snow crunching under our feet.

I made homemade apple pie that the kids enjoyed helping me decorate. My favorite is my six year old’s happy face. It came out of the oven looking like it was winking at [...]

La Chaux-de-Fonds under snow

Photos that Vilay and I took yesterday while we were in La Chaux-de-Fonds shopping for my new boots.  There was so much snow!

Snow, snow everywhere…

(If you haven’t entered the giveaway yet make sure that you do before Monday!!!)

Yesterday, it started out all grey with rain, rain and more rain.  Later on some blue sky burst through the grey.  It lifted my spirits.

Soon after the rain mixed with snow and later the snow took over.

It has snowed since late afternoon [...]

Lazy day walking around Bern

Since I was sick we decided to head to Bern for the day instead of walking in the mountains. Honestly, I don’t think I have been this sick in years.
We ate at Burger King (a treat for the kids), had warm apple turnovers from McDonald’s (a treat for all of us), window shopped, let [...]

View from a bench

Today started off cold and gray.
It ended up cold with a big blue sky.
My youngest daughter and son went on a walk with me this afternoon.  We walked a little and then we sat on a bench with an incredible view (shown above).
The sun warmed our bodies and I hope it killed some sick [...]
