Our nightly walk in photos

March 14, 2009

It is getting warmer even if we are still buried in snow. The snow is wetter and heavy. I think it may be slowly melting all the way through. While I don’t think it will melt away in a few days, I do think that most of the snow will be gone in a month [...]

Sunday, we visited Avenches, Switzerland. We were excited to see a real Roman amphitheater but we found so much more. We plan on returning in the summer so that we can explore this city more in depth. It is worth another visit! The first series of photos are of the castle that we explored on [...]

December 1, 2008

The snow was beautiful with ripples blown into it from the wind. Hill where children sled.  We are planning on bringing our children here with their sleds soon. The camera froze (pun intended) while I took this shot.  I like how it came out. My children wading, rolling and playing in the snow.

Snow is a part of life here in the Jura

November 26, 2008

Winter is long in the Jura.   Snow is simply a part of our life here. We had snow as deep as now this past Easter.  My children searched for Easter eggs in snow up to my knees which meant it was up to my son’s waist.  So, don’t be surprised when you see photos [...]

Snowy Jura

November 24, 2008

On Sunday, we took a walk before dinner.  It felt good to get out and feel the snow crunching under our feet.  I made homemade apple pie that the kids enjoyed helping me decorate. My favorite is my six year old’s happy face. It came out of the oven looking like it was winking at [...]

Yesterday, it started out all grey with rain, rain and more rain.  Later on some blue sky burst through the grey.  It lifted my spirits. Soon after the rain mixed with snow and later the snow took over.   It has snowed [...]

Lazy day walking around Bern

November 18, 2008

Since I was sick we decided to head to Bern for the day instead of walking in the mountains. Honestly, I don’t think I have been this sick in years. We ate at Burger King (a treat for the kids), had warm apple turnovers from McDonald’s (a treat for all of us), window shopped, let [...]
