Happy in Switzerland

I have finally accepted that I love Switzerland.
I love living here.
It doesn’t mean that I don’t love America or France.  I do.
But, I know that I can’t leave Switzerland.
I can’t.
I can’t live without the mountains, the sound of cowbells, the calm, the respect, the politeness, the security, the beauty, the order, the [...]

Sunday

Yesterday, we got out of the apartment. It was good to be outside in the sunshine with the smell of fall pulling at my inner bear stirring it out of a deep slumber.  We had spent too many hours inside due to one sick child or another.
I sat quietly with the autumn light on [...]

Solothurn didn’t look like much from the train station. However, once we found our way to the old center we were excited to explore the city.
My favorite memory of that day at the end of June was when we enjoyed a glass of cool white wine at a stand with friendly locals. We [...]

Solothurn (Soleure), Switzerland

We visited Solothurn at the end of June but I never got around to sharing it. Each time I would remember there was something else that I wanted to post or I would forget for months at a time.

First snow

We have our first snow even if fall just started.
It is coming down in big white flakes.
Beautiful.
Last year, it didn’t snow until November the 9th.  However, I was told by someone that it can snow as early as September.
Winter is long here while spring and fall are short and sweet.  Summer isn’t really that long [...]

Les Breuleux to Tramelan (Part III)

I found myself missing the beautiful weather we had this past weekend as I was processing the last of the photos that we took from our walk.
Today, it is rainy and cold in contrast to Sunday which was sunny and warm.
The following photos will take you from near Le Pied d’Or until Tramelan which was [...]
