Touched by a picture

Sand

The light represents the soon to be vacated presence of my father in my life. He’s dying. ~~ anonymous

I feel that these warm rays of light represent hope that seeps inside one’s soul, filling them with courage to see their way out of the darkness and into a brighter place. ~~ Peepfrench

No matter how far or deep, no matter if you are in a tunnel long and dark, wherever you are…there is and always will be light. This picture reminds me of faith, to trust that the light shatters darkness. Trust it to lead you. ~~ Corey

Happy, princess (she sees the form of a castle at the top of the image made from shadows and light), safe ~~ Sweet Bear (age 3)

Adventure, exotic places and warmth…life and hope ~~ Pumpkin

In my original post, showing this picture, I asked others to share what emotions this image stirred inside them. I think how we perceive is dependant upon our environment and our life experiences as well as our personalities.

By sharing our emotions that were stirred by this image, we are able to open a window into our own souls. Others can then “look in” and learn from our view and our perception.

I imagined being in this strange place and being lost, and unsure, but then there’s this very dim light in the distance and images begin to appear as shadows and you aren’t so afraid or lost. Finally you turn a bend and here’s what greets you– a shaft of pure sunlight and the revelation that where you’ve been is actually very beautiful but you just didn’t realize it. You were too preoccupied with fear, too much in the dark to appreciate the beauty of it all.

Deep eh? Well, you asked! I love that picture btw.

And, I loved how you described what it made you think of and feel!

This has been fun seeing how one simple picture influences others and sharing how it makes us feel.

    I hope more people play!

I meant to send you an e-mail, then I lost track of time.

It is a beautiful photograph, and the first thing that came to my mind when I saw it was the book The Crown of Columbus by Louise Erdrich and Michael Dorris, which I read the first summer I spent in France, after I graduated from college.

Not very deep, is it? And I can’t explain why I thought of that book, although if you’ve read it, you’ll understand why.

I forgot to come back to this and comment the first time…sorry…

I keep seeing the same thing…those rocks look like sleeping people…frozen in time…and that dazzling light symbolizes a new beginning, and a new path and happiness…I feel very happy looking at it.

I’ve only had sticky rice as a sweet dish, never savory with ginger sauce and tomato sauce. Sounds interesting!

It is good. The kids and I just got back from my In-laws and I am sorry we didn’t have any this time. :(

An overwhelming feeling of loneliness and despair, until we finally see the light.

Okay you will all think I’m totally nuts, but I imagine it being the inside of an ear, while the sun is shining outside:o)
I swear, I have not had one single drink!
ooh my 12 year old, says he sees a ghost coming out of the center of the earth!
