Alsace is beautiful.
Here are some photos I took from a walk around my Inlaws village which is located near Strasbourg.
Flowers cover Alsace.
There is always a field nearby.
I had forgotten how much the French love their dogs. Dogs are everywhere! The dog above was so cute it made me almost want one. I was sad to see that a ray of sunlight got into this otherwise adorable image.
The canal shown above was built to transport the stones used to build the Strasbourg Cathedral.
Horses hiding in the shade of trees.
Vilay told me that this contraption is used to release the water in the canal if the level is too high.
The stork is a symbol of Alsace. Almost extinct in the 70s, storks are now seen once again all over Alsace due to re-population efforts. It is not unusual to see a stork nest on top of the roof of a church.
Most of the Alsatian homes are in good condition. I took the photo above because I thought it was charming. The house is in bad shape but the owner has still dressed it in flowers.
A chapel in the village.
I will continue sharing photos of our vacation as I get them uploaded and sorted out.
I was happy to see Alsace after being away for so long. It goes without saying that Alsace is incredibly charming especially in the summer.

Hi, I’m new to your site… navigated here from another Swiss Expat blog. I just had to say that I love to see your travels — especially since your photos are so beautiful!
You have a wonderful gift for photography.
I want back!!! it’s ever so beautiful!
Love it!
I want to have an Alsacian old house and restore it and dress it with flowers.
Susan,
Thank you for stopping by and thank you for your kind words.
Marchel,
Thank you. My only wish is that I had a better camera and that I could be a professional photographer getting paid to do something that I love and would do anyway. ;)
Expatraveler,
It is beautiful. I love all the history and that there is always something to take a picture of.
Sissi,
You and me both!
