Prague is beautiful and I am sure we will go back again and again over the coming years. You are right that the prices have risen. Vilay was disappointed by that but I think that it is to be expected. You should see all the work they are doing and have done to the city and around it. The only problem is that the Czech make 60 percent of what Western Europeans make on average (my husband's Czech cousin told us this)...so, I think it must be very hard for the average Czech especially if they are just starting out and the elderly. Prague is beautiful and I am sure we will go back again and again over the coming years. You are right that the prices have risen. The historical city center is very well preserved. I do think Prague is beautiful but I think it is fair to say that it is NOT Paris which I have read it being compared to. We have traveled so much and seen so many cities that at first I was a little disappoited in Prague because I had a built up image in my head of what I thought it would be. However, after a few more days walking around Prague I got to discover and know Prague better and the charm of the city began to reveal itself. It is very crowded and I think that was what hide some of that charm in the first few days. ;) I would love to visit Prague at Christmas one year. I think it must be completely magical at that time of the year. However, Prague is EXPENSIVE. It is not the cheap get away that it was in the past.
