I have been playing with widgets for Wordpress. Let’s just say I am in heaven. You all know I am not a techie person and like to be able to do things fast and easy.
Well, I just love Wordpress!
It has been such a wonderful experience learning about templates and FTP and how to unzip things other than mine or my hubby’s jeans (*blushing*). Now, I have fun and friendly widgets to play with! What the heck are they…well, widgets are the thingy’s on my sidebar like recent comments, archives…etc. Widgets are much easier to move around than html or php coding. It is so simple all I have to do is go into my admin section for templates and click on widgets. After reaching the widgets page I can simply pick up my widgets and drag them where I want them to go into the sidebar. It is so smooth!
Oh, I am a happy Mama.
Over the next few days I will be playing with all the different widgets and my template. If you really hate the one I have now let me know. I have emailed the designer of my previous template called Golden Grey asking if it would be updated for widgets. Because, as you can see this chic has been bitten by the widget bug!

I like the layout, but not that color of green. It’s difficult to read the sidebars.
Janet, I think it is a little bright on the eyes as well. But, for some odd reason I just love it. I think that the background image is just that…an image. So, I don’t think I can change the color without more knowledge than I have about templates. I am afraid I would mess it all up.
I have contacted the person who made my old template called Golden Grey. He did update it for widgets. However, when I uploaded it the Blogroll was not correctly showing. So, I contacted him again and he informed me that the entire template needs redone. So, I must wait. I am thinking about putting in a theme switcher for my readers to decide which one they like. I will work on that this week. :)
I like the layout too, but the color is a bit much for me!
Came here from AliThinks. Just read about the widgets. It sounds so easy to use. Soon, web designers are going to be out of business.
It is a no brainer to use them. Before I would have to play around with the html or php to get whatever I was putting in my sidebar to look right and now I don’t. I can’t wait until there are more templates and widgets! :)
