Change

June 28, 2010

So much construction in our village.  The dirt road above has been replaced with a concrete road leading to future companies or factories. Tonight is our last night sleeping in our apartment. It is a mess right now with bags and boxes scattered about. I was exhausted yesterday. Today, (thankfully) I feel like I have [...]

On top of the world

June 25, 2010

We are busy, tired, happy, a little stressed and feeling a whole lotta excited. It is like we are on top of the world. It is almost 9:30 at night and I can hear my girls giggling over each others silly comments. This is after a long day full of sunshine. Only now is it [...]

Mm-Mm Good

June 23, 2010

Today is the Fête du Jura. Most everyone working and all that go to school in the Jura have the day off. I am busy beyond busy. Yet, we still took a long walk today. It helped with the stress. We met this guy on the way back to our village. When I took the [...]

Spotted in La Chaux-de-fonds

June 21, 2010

We took a much needed trip out of our village into La Chaux-de-fonds in search of a music festival that we never found. No matter. We walked in the city, took some pictures, did a little window shopping and snacked on bakery goods. I am so busy now preparing for our move right along with [...]

Almost perfect

June 18, 2010

…which is perfect. Went to visit my son’s school today. Oh my goodness, his teacher is wonderful. I am a little jealous I didn’t have a teacher like her when I was a kid. Imagine the Kindergarten teacher of your dreams… I am sure it would be her! My son was a little scared to [...]

Unraveling

June 16, 2010

I have a bad habit of getting my views all raveled up and knotted together in my explanations of such views. especially when I feel strongly about those views. What I really want to do is unravel myself and learn to explain myself clearly… simply. without so much emotion. I tend to carry on too [...]

Sprayed

June 16, 2010

I was sprayed with water from the road by a semi-truck (thankfully smaller than in the U.S.).  We had taken my youngest daughter to a friend’s house in the village to play. It is raining. We love walking in the rain. When I got sprayed I laughed and danced a little. Yes, I am silly. [...]

understanding

June 15, 2010

“As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it.” – Albert Einstein Truly…How I have been feeling lately. I understand. More. Yet, I don’t understand. Anything. At all. All at the same moment.

School boy

June 15, 2010

Friday is the big day! We will go to visit my son’s classroom. We will say hello to his teacher, classmates and his classmates families. The day that he pulled himself up to stand for the first time doesn’t seem so long ago. I noticed the other day how long and lanky his legs looked [...]

Construction

June 14, 2010

We have construction going on here and there all over our village. It has been interesting to watch our village grow little by little over the last three years. Busy day today with laundry and continuing to organize for our move at the end of this month.  I will meet with my youngest daughter’s teachers [...]

Fun

June 11, 2010

One of the fun things we like to do as a family is to run on the village skating ramp. Once you get up on the top you can lay basking in the sun (my husband’s favorite part) and then slide back down when you are ready to run all over again.

Outside-Inside

June 10, 2010

Photos I took while walking outside. We walked around inside our village. My kids are never bored here because of all the animals. We are enjoying a perfect day. I hope all of you are as well.

Letting go

June 9, 2010

I let my daughter take my expensive camera and go. Me showing her how to take a picture. Her taking a picture. Emmie Cat was her first subject. No surprise there. What a beautiful shot of a cat that is not easy to take pictures of! The trees behind our apartment. Emmie pretending not to [...]

All on his own

June 8, 2010

In a few weeks, we will visit my son’s school. We will meet his teacher and classmates. He is no longer afraid to go to school all on his own. Without Mama. Today, he is going to the village daycare run by mothers. I had stopped asking him if he wanted to go or not [...]

English

June 7, 2010

This is a post for all the times I didn’t post about this subject. I let it fall away. It was hateful. It was silly. It was so not me. However, I will post it now. Why do so many English people in Switzerland (and outside Switzerland) carry on as if Americans do not speak [...]
