Public warning: Old witch ladies giving out evil eyes in Neuchâtel, Switzerland

October 31, 2009

We went shopping in Neuchâtel today. We had to buy my son a winter coat because the zipper broke on his old one. Two girls got their birthday wishes. One wished for a Princess Barbie and the other a stroller for her babies. I will let you guess who wished for what. All three got [...]

The village put up the snow markers yesterday. I can’t say that it really bothered me. Even after last winter with the neverending snow, I am looking forward to winter here. It is that beautiful. The kids are busy in school. I am busy with the kids. ;) Emmie Cat did have a tumor but [...]

At this time last year we had snow. A lot of snow. I am happy that it is still unseasonally warm here. Today, I walked around most of the time with my coat open. My middle daughter turned seven over the weekend. My oldest daughter will turn fourteen in a few weeks and two days [...]

A moment in our day

October 22, 2009

My six year old daughter and five year old daughter lost a tooth tonight. First my five year old and later my six year old. I was honored that they trusted me enough to help them pull out their teeth without any tears or fear. It is the sixth for my six year old and [...]

Autumn day

October 11, 2009

We took a walk around Tavannes today. Autumn colors danced at every turn. Emmie is doing wonderfully. She has been sleeping, eating and behaving normally in every way. She is even more affectionate than she was before and slept most of the night nestled into my neck.

Missing our girl

October 9, 2009

This is the second night that Emmie is not here. We miss her. Her surgery was this morning. The lump was easily removed. It was when the vet went in to sterilize Emmie that complications arose. The vet said it was “not pretty” in there. The rest of the explanation was a bit complicated for [...]

Neverending walls

October 6, 2009

Each day I think will be easier but it isn’t. My life is such a whirlwind of job searching, kids, a sick cat, a husband and all the daily duties that get in the way of any personal creating or reflection that I had always brought to this blog before. I have spent the last [...]

Update on my Emmie Cat

October 4, 2009

We took her to an animal clinic in Delémont and the staff was just perfect. It was all very quick, professional and thorough. She was given two shots to ease the inflammation (if that is what she has) in one of her nipples. I am to give her pills that do the same thing in [...]

October 4, 2009

The NATO summit held in April of 2009 began on the Passerelle pedestrian bridge which crosses over the Rhine river connecting Strasbourg, France and Kehl, Germany. We took the photos below during our summer vacation in Strasbourg. It was a touching moment to walk across this bridge knowing that I had crossed it both before [...]
